If you have a potpourri of collectibles and don’t know what to do with them, try picking a theme to pull them together. Unlikely objects can be compatible when they have a common denominator like color, shape, style, or function. For example, the country charm that sets the scene, hand painted stenciled walls add character to the room schemes. The also provide the perfect backdrop for a blend of wooden decoys a garden of potted plants and a mellow old trunk.

If accessories can be anything you happen to like, it follows that they also can be displayed in any manner that happens to tickle your fancy. Instead of bowing to the obvious, the homeowner mounted a favorite antique quilt on their living room wall. The colorful coverlet becomes a contemporary work of art. Long low selves finished in a neutral tone to complement the plank flooring and a pebbled plant area anchor the arrangement.

Fresh out of flower? Candles lost their dinnertime light in your eyes? Bo problem when your use your imagination and a sense of humor. For example, in place of traditional table décor, a favorite accessory was put to great use as a whimsical centerpiece. A faience lamp grazes in a field of parsley ground from seeding planted in the lined basket. Another time your might find him surrounded by a bed of homegrown herbs which the family can snip right at the table for garnish.
